Stainless Steel Ferrule Rope Net

Stainless Steel Ferrule Rope Net

Stainless steel ferrule rope net — also called ferrule-type cable mesh or sleeved rope net — is a diamond-pattern flexible mesh. It is made from high-strength stainless steel wire rope (7×7 or 7×19 construction), with two parallel cables clamped and mutually bent at each node by a metal ferrule. We supply grades 304, 304L, 316 and 316L, with cable diameters from 1.0–5.0 mm and 60° diamond apertures from 25×43 mm (OW×OH) up to 200×346 mm made to order. Because every node is rigidly fixed by the ferrule, the whole panel holds its geometry under tension without slipping or distorting — pairing the load capacity of a metal screen with a near-invisible look from a distance.

Product Advantages

Crimped ferrule node — locks cable crossing
  • Material by environment — 304 for general use; 316 / 316L for coastal, humid or chemical-exposed sites, with 316L offering lower carbon and better intergranular corrosion resistance after welding.
  • Rigid nodes, stable geometry — ferrule crimping keeps the diamond angle (standard 60°) after tensioning, ideal for tolerance-sensitive facade infill, balustrades and tensile structures.
  • Machine-made, fast lead time — compared with hand-woven mesh, ferrule type is batch-crimped by machine: tighter tolerances, shorter production, more predictable scheduling for large orders.
  • Ferrule material options — stainless steel ferrules (aggressive environments), nickel-plated copper (general marine / mild corrosion; a correctly swaged copper ferrule can reach ~90% of the rope’s minimum breaking load), tinned copper (economical). Do not pair aluminium ferrules with stainless cable — it causes galvanic corrosion.
  • Load scales with cable — e.g. ~3.17 kN at 2.0 mm, ~7.38 kN at 3.2 mm (7×19) — select by protection level.
  • Durable, low maintenance — corrosion resistant, non-combustible, anti-climb, and essentially maintenance-free outdoors; black-oxide finish reduces glare for animals.

Product Uses

Tensile facade / balustrade cable net
  • Zoos / wildlife parks — enclosures for big cats, monkeys, aviaries and bird-flight roofs (ferrule type preferred for heavy predators — reinforced nodes resist impact).
  • Safety — fall-protection and anti-throw nets on bridges, balconies and stairs; anti-climb barriers; rockfall protection.
  • Architecture — tensile facades, atrium ceilings, green-wall trellises, balustrade infill.
  • Landscape & interior — plant-climbing nets, vertical greening, metal drapery, partitions, exhibition pieces, car-park ceilings.

Product Specifications (Mesh Aperture Spec)

Parallel stainless cables with ferrules

The mesh aperture is the net size after tensioning and varies slightly with tension and frame. Ferruled (sleeved) rope net is measured for the 60° diamond: OW = Opening Width (horizontal), OH = Opening Height (vertical), OH ≈ OW × 1.732 (√3), so length and width differ. hilink produces standard 60° ferrule net to order. Ferruled and knotted rope nets share the same cable physics; they differ only at the joint.
