Stainless Steel Knotted Rope Net

Stainless Steel Knotted Rope Net

Stainless steel knotted rope net — also called hand-woven cable mesh or sleeveless rope net — is a diamond-pattern flexible mesh. It is made from high-strength stainless steel wire rope (7×7 or 7×19 construction), hand-woven: each cable passes through the middle of the other and is twisted twice at every node to lock the knot — with no ferrule and no added hardware at all. We supply grades 304, 304L, 316 and 316L, with cable diameters from 1.0–5.0 mm and mesh apertures from 20×20 mm to 200×200 mm made to order. With zero hardware in the way, it is extremely transparent and virtually non-reflective against sky or buildings; the hand-locked knots keep the aperture constant and never slip.

Product Advantages

  • Material by environment — 304 for general use; 316 / 316L for coastal, humid or chemical-exposed sites, with 316L offering lower carbon and better intergranular corrosion resistance after welding.
  • Maximum transparency, no glare — without ferrules, the steel cable nearly vanishes and does not reflect glare — the top choice for high-end aviaries and viewing barriers with zero obstruction to visitors.
  • Hardware-free, safer — hand-locked knots cannot loosen or slip like a ferrule might; especially friendly to birds and primates — no sharp metal edges to pick at.
  • Lightweight, lower freight — lighter than ferrule type at the same spec, reducing transport and handling burden.
  • Load scales with cable — e.g. ~3.17 kN at 2.0 mm, ~7.38 kN at 3.2 mm (7×19) — select by protection level.
  • Flexible and impact-resistant — the flexible structure absorbs impact and conforms to curved / 3-D shapes; 30+ year service life, recyclable, maintenance-free.

Product Uses

  • Zoos / wildlife parks — enclosures for big cats, monkeys, aviaries and bird-flight roofs (woven type preferred for premium bird netting — transparent, no reflection).
  • Safety — fall-protection and anti-throw nets on bridges, balconies and stairs; anti-climb barriers.
  • Architecture — tensile facades, atrium ceilings, green-wall trellises, balust Knotted rope net — tensile facade and green wallrade infill.
  • Landscape & interior — plant-climbing nets, vertical greening, metal drapery, partitions, exhibition pieces, stadium fencing.

Product Specifications (Mesh Aperture Spec)

Mesh aperture is the net size after tensioning and varies slightly with tension and frame. Knotted rope net uses a square aperture: the cables are hand-knotted at every node, so opening width = height (unlike the ferrule type’s 60° diamond). Knotted and ferrule rope nets share the same cable physics; they differ only at the joint (knotted = hand-tied, no hardware; ferrule = crimped sleeve).
