Why AISI 316 for Marine?
AISI 316 stainless contains 2-3% molybdenum, giving it superior chloride (saltwater) corrosion resistance compared to 304. For any fitting exposed to sea air, splash, or immersion, 316 is the right choice. Hilink marine hardware is 100% AISI 316 — we do not substitute 304 in marine applications.
