- Italian Clip (Fist Grip) — single-saddle, drop-forged for permanent terminations.
- US Type Forged Clip — heavy-duty drop-forged saddles, sized in fractions of an inch, 1/8″ to 1-1/2″ rope.
- US Type Malleable Clip — cast malleable iron for light-duty, low-cost applications.

How Many Clips Do You Need?
Industry best practice (per DIN 1142 / FF-C-450):
- Minimum 3 clips per termination for ropes up to 25 mm
- Minimum 4 clips per termination for ropes 25-40 mm
- Minimum 5 clips per termination for ropes over 40 mm
- Spacing: 6× rope diameter between clips; first clip 1× rope diameter from the dead end
- Always apply correct torque — overtightening damages the rope
